Study Skills Tutor

The study skills tutors are here to help students develop the study skills needed to succeed whatever challenges they face throughout their course, whether on a Foundation on PhD degree. All students are welcome to use this service.

Hugh Peters is the Study Skills and Technical English Tutor for the School and students can make appointments with him for assistance with a variety of academic skills areas including:

• Organisation and time management
• Exam preparation
• Referencing
• Academic report / dissertation / lab report writing
• Technical English
• Maths and electromechanical systems
• Presentation and Research skills
• Critical thinking
• Understanding assessment criteria

In addition, Hugh can arrange to discuss academic skills issues with small groups of students (up to four).
