The National Placement and Internship Awards are designed to recognise and reward those employers, universities and students who provide and contribute to excellence within work experience for undergraduates in the UK. The topic of student placements, internships and work-based learning has never been more relevant given the rising need for students to graduate from university with the required employability skills for the workplace.
Thanks to a number of nominations for the third year running, the University of Huddersfield's Computing and Engineering Placement team have been shortlisted in the 'Best University Placement or Careers Service' (as nominated by a student or employer) category.
Fran Shaw, Placement Unit Manager, says: "we are delighted to have been nominated yet again by both our students and industry contacts this year, especially after being shortlisted and winning last year. These awards highlight the value of placements to both students and industry and it is fantastic that we are given the opportunity to celebrate and recognise everyone involved.
"Our Placement team are committed to supporting students in their search for a placement and we continue to work with students throughout their year in industry. To receive such positive feedback from our students and companies is a fantastic acknowledgement and demonstrates how much they appreciate all the hard work the team puts in to ensuring they have a successful year and get the most from their placement experience."
